At the meeting, Prime Minister reiterated that the Vietnamese government has always considered overseas Vietnamese as an integral part of the country's development and that the domestic business environment has been improved drastically.
He talked about how now is the perfect time for Vietnamese businesses abroad to create a new wave of investment into their home country. Speaking with Vietnamese intellectuals in the US, Prime Minister Phuc asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to conduct a new program to attract more overseas Vietnamese to develop scientific research and education in Vietnam. The Prime Minister said that overseas intellectuals can send the suggestions directly to him to propose development plans and give feedback. He also called for more overseas Vietnamese intellectuals to join his consultative team, in addition to their 4 current scholars.
