The Government leader lauded the efforts of Que Phu commune and Que Son district in completing all 19 criteria set for new-style rural areas.
He said that the local authorities should continue to enhance the living standards of the locals both materially and spiritually, which is the core goal of building a new-style rural area.
The PM also advised Que Phu to promote the restructuring of the rural economy as the commune is an agriculture-based locality with less developed services.
According to the Que Phu authorities, after eight years implementing the new-style rural programme, the commune has mobilised local residents to donate over 10,500m2 to expand rural roads as planned. The commune has also invested in building and upgrading tens of kilometers of rural roads, cultural houses, sports houses, and lighting systems, among others.
The poverty rate in the commune has been reduced to 2.89%, while 100% of children are going to school.
Quang Nam currently has 84 communes recognised as new-style rural communes, accounting for 41% of the total number of communes.
