According to the planning, the total investment for this project is more than 12,000 billion VND or over 550 million US dollars. Also, the city of Da Nang will use nearly 12 hectares of military land to expand the runway and construct a new observatory.
This preparation is for welcoming an expected 13 million arrivals to the city in the next 5 years. The number of visitors to the city has skyrocketed in the last few years, with about 6 million expected this year.
The construction of the Da Nang International Airport is also part of preparations for the APEC 2017 summit.
