PetroVietnam to target loss-making projects

VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc agreed the appointed Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee member and former party committee secretary of Lang Son Province Tran Sy Thanh as the new Chairman of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.

Addressing the ceremony, PM Phuc asked the newly-appointed PetroVietnam head to fulfil his assigned tasks. The leader requested PetroVietnam to fast-track the implementation of key national projects, and cut spending and wastefulness in a number of member units and improve productivity.

In 2017, PetroVietnam’s total turnover exceeded the target by 13.8% and the group contributes 20-25% to the state budget annually.
