As of now, the Ministry of Public Security has granted more than 8 million personal identification numbers to citizens through the issuance of citizenship cards in 16 provinces and cities.
The ministry has also coordinated with the Ministry of Justice to issue personal identification numbers to more than 900,000 newborn children in 19 provinces and cities.
However, linkage, sharing and use of information between the national database on population and has not kept pace with a roadmap that has been issued. It is said that only 2 years are left for the completion of the database.
