The National Hospital of Tropical Diseases' hall in Hanoi has been turned into a day-care centre to treat dengue fever cases. An average 1,000 plus people visit the hospital every day. Over 300 patients subject to inpatient treatment have been allocated to other departments, but are still having to share beds. Hanoi currently ranks 5th out of the 70,000 cases reported nationally. The public have been urged to take precautions to avoid possible exposure.
