Palanquin procession celebrates Hung Kings Temple Festival

These are among the main activities celebrating the death anniversary of the Hung Kings that will take place on Saturday. The procession rite has been preserved and practiced for thousands of years. This year’s event attracted the participation of 6 procession group of different communes in Phu Tho Province. In 2012, the worshipping ritual of Hung Kings was recognised as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Hung Kings Temple Festival takes place every year on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar calendar.
