VTV.vn - Vietnamese students are allowed to attend physical classes in 23 out of 63 provinces and centrally governed cities as of October 25, according to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).

They are: Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Kon Tum, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Yen Bai, Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Son La, and Lang Son.

Most of them have been rated with a low risk of COVID-19 transmission.

There are 25 provinces and cities where classes are exclusively online, while the remaining 15 localities offer a combination of online, physical and television programmes.

Earlier the MOET had asked provincial and municipal authorities to promptly review their local conditions to allow students back to physical classrooms.

Accordingly, students can return to school in areas where the pandemic has been curbed without the need for complete control of COVID-19 at the province or city-wide level.

However, many provinces and cities remain cautious and have yet to decide on exactly when children can go back to school.

The MOET is planning to have thorough discussions with the Ministry of Health on the vaccination guidelines for schoolchildren, in which educational facilities will be responsible for communicating with parents or guardians on the benefits of vaccination.
