VTV.vn - More than 90% of workers at industrial parks in the northern province of Bac Ninh have returned to work following the Lunar New Year (Tet) break, according to a local official.

Statistics show that around 339,000 workers have returned to work as of February 7, equivalent to 90% of the workforce, down by 7 percentage points compared to last year.

The reason for this drop is that data about those working night shifts was not yet available. In addition, some workers were unable to get back to work due to having distant hometowns or contracting COVID-19.

The management board of industrial parks in Bac Ninh Province is working to survey enterprises’ demand for workers after Tet so that prompt measures can be introduced to help enterprises maintain their operations.

Enterprises have been asked to test their employees for coronavirus in order to ensure safety at factories and implement epidemic prevention measures effectively.

Those to be tested include workers who have not yet been fully vaccinated, have symptoms of COVID-19, or those who travelled from areas with the highest level of risk.

Enterprises in industrial parks in Bac Ninh were also required to arrange the facilities to accommodate and manage their workers who have been infected with the virus but show no symptoms.

Furthermore, enterprises need to work with local health authorities to administer booster shots for their workers while stepping up communication with workers regarding the adherence to prevention measures in the workplace.
