The forum drew the participation of 10,000 Vietnamese people. It was co-organised by the National Coordinating Centre for human organ transplants and the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Military Medical Academy. At the event, transplant recipients shared their stories and made new friends.
In particular, the families of the organ donors expressed pride in their relatives, whose donated organs have saved the lives of many people. Following a public appeal from forum organisers, as many as 1,400 people signed up as organ donors. Currently, there are more than 6,000 patients awaiting corneal, heart, and lung transplants.
