The number of Vietnamese working overseas totaled over 140,000 this year, an increase of nearly 7 percent over the last year, according to the Overseas Worker Management Department. This is the fifth consecutive year where the number of overseas workers has gone up and also exceeded 100,000 workers. Japan rose to be the largest market for Vietnamese workers with more than 60,000 employees, followed by Taiwan (China) with about 58,000 workers. The Korean market ranks third with more than 6,000 Vietnamese workers, followed by Saudi Arabia, Romania, Malaysia, and Kuwait.
