Reports from Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Son La and Cao Bang reveal that the floods have resulted in 9 deaths, 24 people missing and 196 houses destroyed. So far, over 200 hectares of agricultural farming land has been destroyed, with the total estimated damage worth 23.7 million USD. A large amount of transport infrastructure has also been put out of order. Authorities are working hard to minimise losses and contain the situation.
