The Party official made the request while addressing a ceremony held in Ninh Binh province on March 27 to mark the 200th anniversary of the province’s appellation (1822 - 2022) and the 30th anniversary of its re-establishment (April 1, 1992 - 2022).
He spoke highly of the achievements gained by the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people, over recent years.
Accordingly, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of the province in 2021 saw an increase of 5.71% and its budget collection reached over 22 trillion VND. Ninh Binh has also gained encouraging achievements in boosting tourism, education, and healthcare; improving infrastructure; and building new-style rural areas.
Politburo member Thuong requested that local authorities continue fostering the renewal of the growth model in tandem with economic restructuring and environmental protection.
He stressed that it is necessary to mobilise all available resources on building infrastructure for further socio-economic development.
Greater attention should be placed on increasing the quality of tourism products and services to turn Ninh Binh into a national tourism centre and a favourite destination for visitors at home and abroad, he stated.
He also requested the provincial authorities to accelerate the building of new-style rural areas, afforestation, preservation and promotion of cultural and historical values.
It is crucial to enhance the work of Party building and rectification, as well as the implementation of the ‘Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle’ campaign.
He noted that amidst the unpredictable developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the province must work out appropriate solutions on flexible adaption to the pandemic while ensuring the health and safety of the people, and recovering the socio-economic situation.
