Newly-elected State president gives oath speech

VTV.vn - irst off, Vietnam has welcomed a new state leader. Tran Dai Quang has officially become the new State President of Vietnam, with 91% of votes today (April 2nd).

On the occasion, the newly-elected State President made a speech at the swearing-in ceremony. The new State President thanked the National Assembly for electing him as State leader and extended best wishes to him. He also expressed sincere thanks to former State President Truong Tan Sang and his predecessors who have made great contributions to national construction and development and wholeheartedly served the country and the people.

Born in 1956, State President Tran Dai Quang was a deputy in the 13th National Assembly and holds a law professorship. He was Director of the Security Consultation Department, Deputy Director and Director of the Security Department, Deputy Minister of Public Security, member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th Party Central Committee, member of the politburo of the 11th Party Central Committee, and Minister of Public Security.
