The session yesterday looked at the socio-economic situation in 2015 and development plans from 2016 to 2020. During the Friday session, deputies appreciated the flexible approach the government had taken over the recent period. Deputies also proposed measures to improve the economy’s competitiveness in the context of international integration.

"Local residents request the government to prioritise investing for surrounding dykes in Mekong Delta to protect fresh water. At the same time, farming areas should be arranged into specific areas for rice cultivation and raising fish and seafood to guarantee national food security", said Nguyen Thi Kim Be, Deputy of Kien Giang Province.

At the conclusion of the Friday session, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan appreciated valued opinions from the participants. The National Assembly Standing Committee will collect and research the point made as part of the basis to two draft resolutions submitted to the National Assembly later this session.
