VTV.vn - On Monday morning, New Zealand's cabinet meets to begin work on reforming gun control laws.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern reaffirmed the need for gun law reforms, and promised reforms would be made within 10 days of the bloody shootings in Christchurch that killed 50 people. The cabinet is planning to ban personal possession of the semi-automatic guns, especially the types used by the Tarrant in the Christchurch terrorism act. Cabinet members also discussed the shortcomings of New Zealand's intelligence work in recent incidents.

Regarding the recent shooting, the Australian security forces are actively carrying out investigation. The forces have conducted search in two houses, where Tarrant suspects used to live. Police commissioner Mike Bush has also warned citizens of increasing presence of police and emergency service partners across the country, in order to ensure safety and security for New Zealand citizens.
