At least 2 people were killed and 44 others injured, most of whom were locals and Malaysian tourists. Ambulances, medical and rescue staff were sent to the site to assist and relocate victims.
Lombok, which is east of Bali, was struck by a major earthquake last August, killing over 300 people and left thousands homeless. Indonesia is located on the geologically active Pacific Ring of Fire, causing it to experiencing regular earthquakes and volcanic activity.
