VTV.vn - A new tropical depression has appeared in the East Sea while another one is forecast to develop into a new storm in the next 24 hours, according to the national weather service.

In the next 24 hours, it will likely move north-westward at about 10 km per hour and strengthen into a storm. At 4 am on July 8, the storm is forecast to hit the Gulf of Tonkin, with the strongest winds at 62-74 km/h.

Ships operating in the affected areas of the tropical depression are warned that strong winds and rough seas may occur in most parts of the East Sea. Shipping boats have been asked to leave the danger zone. 7,800 people operating aquaculture cages from Hai Phong-Thua Thien Hue have also been called ashore.

The locality must deploy plans to protect important sea dikes and unfinished structures. This is also considered a rehearsal for the strong storms that are expected to occur during this year's stormy season.
