New technologies in cyclone forecasting
VTV.vn - An international conference reviewing state-of-the-art technology in storm forecasting and meteorology was held on Monday in Hanoi.

This was one of the most important activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Typhoon Committee under the World Meteorological Organization. Top meteorological experts from 14 member countries and international organizations attended the event to exchange and share technical experiences.

Latest technologies were introduced, such as remote sensing in monitoring, assessing the impact of climate change.

Countries are investing in new technologies for cyclone forecasting, which are considered key measures in eliminating human and property damage caused by typhoons in the Asia and Pacific region. Vietnam is one of the countries most affected by climate change. In the last 6 months alone, the country has been hit by 16 storms featuring a number of abnormalities.
