Leaders congratulate Vietnamese doctors on hard work

VTV.vn - Party and State leaders have extended their greetings to doctors and health sector workers on the occasion of the 63rd annual Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - 2018).

Bach Mai Hospital organised a ceremony in Hanoi on February 26 to celebrate the 63rd Vietnamese Doctors' Day, while also launching the patriotic emulation movement and receiving the a second class Labour Order.

On behalf of Party and State leaders, President Tran Dai Quang presented the second class Labour Order to Bach Mai hospital, and a first class Labour Order to Associate Professor, Doctor, and Labour Hero Nguyen Quoc Anh, who is the hospital director.

Addressing the ceremony, the President expressed his gratitude to doctors and health workers of the sector and to Bach Mai Hospital in particular, highlighting their invaluable contributions over the past years.

President Tran Dai Quang asked the sector and Bach Mai Hospital to focus on reform to improve performance in providing health care services, personnel training, scientific research, epidemic prevention, international cooperation and economic management, all in the aim of improving the quality of health care services.

Concurrently, the sector should pay greater attention to developing in-depth techniques, expanding the satellite hospital network, and training and transferring technology to hospitals at local levels, to alleviate the overload of patients in central hospitals, he said.

He also expressed his hope that doctors and health workers will promote their responsibility and ethics in caring for people’s health.

The State leader also asked the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies to create optimal conditions for Bach Mai Hospital to become the country’s leading centre for health care services, training and research.

On the same day, Politburo member, and National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong visited and extended greetings to doctors at the Central Maternity Hospital.

NA Vice Chairwoman Phong lauded medical staff for overcoming difficulties, while providing health check-ups and treatment to people.

She also expressed her hope that the Central Maternity Hospital in particular and the health sector in general will follow President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings and strive to build a modern medical profession, to meet the aspirations of the people.

To mark the occasion, the Politburo member presented a souvenir photo of President Ho Chi Minh and staff of the health sector to the Central Maternity Hospital and visited some departments of the hospital.
