By the end of June 2019, the country had 4,458 communes that met new-style rural standards, equivalent to 50.01% of communes nationwide.
These results were achieved one year earlier than the set target. According to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, this was thanks to the active participation of both the political system and the dissemination of the policy among the community.
However, many delegates warned about unresolved issues involving social security, investment attraction, production links creation, and land use.
