The flight was jointly arranged by Vietnamese representative offices in the three regions, competent agencies at home, and relevant agencies in the host nations.
The passengers included children under 18 (two aged below two), the elderly, those with underlying health conditions, pregnant women, students who had finished their studies but had difficulties finding accommodation, stranded tourists, and workers with expired visas and labour contracts.
Vietnam’s representative offices proactively coordinated with and instructed the citizens to perform all necessary procedures, as well as asking competent agencies in the countries concerned to create favourable conditions for the citizens to arrive at the gathering venue at the airport in Paris, France.
The Vietnamese Embassy in France sent its staff to the airport to help the citizens with boarding procedures.
Right upon their landing at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, all passengers and crew members were quarantined and given medical checkups in line with regulations.
In the near future, more flights will be arranged to bring home Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their aspirations, the pandemic situation, and domestic quarantine capacity.
