According to the Da Nang Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, as of August 25, the central coastal city has disbursed over VND124 billion to 116,966 local residents who are subject to the support package.
Beneficiaries are people with meritorious services to the nation, social protection subjects and poor and near-poor households.
For the group of disadvantaged workers, there are currently 23,598 who have been approved for the list of disbursement with a total value of over VND23.7 billion. In which, 18,761 labourers have received financial support worth over VND19 billion, accounting for 80% of the total.
In addition, Da Nang also deducted more than VND3.2 billion from the package to assist 2,528 people who are the city’s specific objects.
To facilitate the surveillance of the disbursement, Da Nang authorities have deployed online channels allowing to look up information about the disbursement via the city’s open data portal at https://congdulieu.vn or https://opendata.danang.gov.vn/ , as well as via the Zalo mobile app when connecting to the Da Nang 1022 Switchboard or via cell phone SMS.
On August 31, Da Nang bid farewell to the medical team from the Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital after more than a month of supporting the city in its COVID-19 fight.
* On the same day, the Hanoi’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of required eight local hospitals to strengthen disease prevention and control measures. Local authorities at all levels were also urged to promote communications to the local restaurants to strictly comply with regulations on social distancing.
* Also on the day, Hai Phong authorities decided to ease some restrict social distancing measures in the northern port city from September 1. Accordingly, the city allows resumption of some business establishments, such as game centres, internet cafes and sauna facilities, while non-essential businesses such as bars and karaoke parlours remain closed.
* On the afternoon of August 31, the People's Committee of Tam Ky City in Quang Nam Province announced the end of medical blockade on some residential areas in An My Ward from 0:00 on September 1.
* On the same day, the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) - Hai Duong branch donated VND1 billion to support the northern province of Hai Duong in its COVID-19 fight. Previously, Vietcombank Hai Duong also awarded over VND200 million to local units in support of the local epidemic prevention and control work.
* In order to proactively prevent and combat COVID-19 in the "new normal" state, the Ministry of Health has urged all Vietnamese people to carry out the 5K Message, meaning Khau trang (wearing face masks) - Khu khuan (disinfecting and keeping personal hygiene) - Khoang cach (practicing social distancing) - Khong tap trung (avoiding crowded gatherings) - Khai bao y te (making health declaration).
