Nationwide promotion aims to boost tap-to-pay usage across retail networks
VTV.vn - With a total budget exceeding VND 14 billion, the campaign "Tap Now, Feel the Wow" covers over 5,500 retail locations across Vietnam, promoting cashless payment adoption and encouraging contactless transactions.

In response to growing consumer demand during the year-end shopping season, the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS), in partnership with Mastercard and payment platform Payoo, has rolled out a nationwide promotion program titled "Tap Now, Feel the Wow"

With a total budget exceeding VND 14 billion, the campaign "Tap Now, Feel the Wow" covers over 5,500 retail locations across Vietnam, promoting cashless payment adoption and encouraging contactless transactions.

Data from the State Bank of Vietnam shows that in the first nine months of 2025, cashless payment activity maintained robust growth. Compared with the same period in 2024, the total number of transactions rose by 43.3%, while the total transaction value increased by 24.2%.

The "Tap Now, Feel the Wow" initiative, running from November 2025 through the first quarter of 2026, coincides with major shopping periods including Black Friday, Christmas, New Year, and Lunar New Year. The program aims to meet growing consumer demand during peak seasons while motivating customers to use cashless payments. Participating NAPAS and Mastercard cardholders can receive discounts of up to 15% or fixed-amount reductions of up to VND 200,000 per transaction, depending on the merchant.

The promotion spans major shopping malls, supermarkets, F&B chains, pharmacies, electronics retailers, and general retail networks. Participating outlets include AEON Citimart, AEON Mall (Binh Duong, Binh Tan, Ha Dong, Hai Phong, Hue, Long Bien, Tan Phu), FamilyMart, FPT Shop, Gong Cha, Haidilao, McDonald’s, Ministop, and TH true mart.

Mr. Nguyễn Đăng Hùng, Deputy CEO of NAPAS, stated, "Responding to growing demand for digital payments, NAPAS, as the provider of Vietnam’s national retail payment infrastructure, collaborates to develop modern, convenient card products that offer a simple, seamless tap experience. Through initiatives like ‘Tap Now, Feel the Wow,’ we aim to expand payment touchpoints nationwide, support cashless transactions, and contribute to a sustainable digital economy."

Sharad Jain, Country Manager of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia at Mastercard, added, "Mastercard is pleased to partner with NAPAS and Payoo to promote contactless payments across Vietnam. The campaign delivers secure, seamless, and rewarding payment experiences for both cardholders and merchants during the peak shopping season, reflecting Mastercard’s commitment to building a digital economy accessible to everyone."

Mr. Ngo Trung Linh, CEO of VietUnion (Payoo), noted, "Our annual collaboration with NAPAS and Mastercard continues to expand, ensuring promotional programs reach more consumers nationwide. Payoo focuses on building unified connections between banks, card organizations, and merchant networks to implement initiatives effectively and deliver real value."

This marks the third consecutive year that NAPAS, Mastercard, and Payoo have launched a nationwide promotion to stimulate consumer spending and drive contactless payment growth. Concurrently, the partners continue the "Tap to Share, Give Hope" social initiative, providing free cancer screenings for 2,010 underprivileged women in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, underscoring their commitment to social responsibility, community health, and support for vulnerable women.
