Over the past 45 years, the Party Committee, authorities and people of HCM City have joined with the whole country to implement the renewal policy; promote patriotism, self-reliance and the power of great national unity; and accelerate the cause of national industrialisation and modernisation and international integration, thereby successfully fulfilling the goal of building a prosperous, peaceful and strong Vietnam with a democratic, fair and civilised society, he emphasised.

Later on the same day, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan visited Vietnamese heroic mothers and heroes of the people’s armed forces in the city who contributed significantly to the struggle for the liberation of the south and national reunification.
