The council is led by Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ, and comprised of three Vice Chairmen including the Governor of the State Bank, the Finance Minister and the Chairman of the National Financial Supervisory Commission.
The council's other 27 members are experts and leaders of key financial and monetary agencies. The council is in charge of supporting the government and the Prime Minister in building policies, making decisions and conducting measures to implement policies effectively.
During its first working session on June 22nd, the council evaluated macroeconomic policies of the last six months and discussed solutions for achieving economic goals in the second half of the year.
