Many delegates said that corruption prevention still faced some problems such as incomplete listings of assets held by officials or assets being registered under the name of other people. Therefore, the fight against corruption required the attention of the whole country.
“When they discover major violations, they will try many ways to lobby and make it less serious. This has been happening for a long time”, Duong Van Thong – National Assembly Deputy of Yen Bai province – said.
Lots of people in a family or a clan working as officials can be considered corruption as it might cause nepotism and rivalries within state agencies.
“We'll further investigate ways to prevent corruption based on the ideas and guidelines of the National Assembly and make them into specific directions for preventing and reducing corruption”, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said.
The National Assembly also discussed issues related to complaints and denunciations.
