VTV.vn - The northern province of Nam Dinh is ready to facilitate French enterprises to enjoy preferential policies in Vietnam, said its Party Secretary Pham Gia Tuc.

The Nam Dinh leader made the statement during a working session with the French business confederation MEDEF International on October 27 in Paris.

He stated that the province is committed to supporting French and foreign businesses with exemption for a wide range of taxes and reduction of land use and rent fees.

Tuc said Nam Dinh wishes to welcome French investors to visit the province to learn about its investment environment and appropriate locations for investment.

According to Nam Dinh Vice Chairman Tran Anh Duong, Nam Dinh has many strengths given its adjacent location to the Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh economic growth triangle and good transport connections with provinces in the Red River Delta.

François Corbin, Chairman of the France-Vietnam Business Council, said MEDEF International is planning to make a visit to Vietnam in early 2024 with the participation of leading French corporations to explore cooperation and investment opportunities.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Vietnam Dinh Toan Thang stated that the economic, trade and investment potential remains huge between France and Vietnam in general and Nam Dinh Province in particular.

He noted that Nam Dinh is one of the fastest growing provinces in Vietnam, at more than 9% in 2022. The province’s total trade value reached 3 billion USD in the first nine months of 2023, while industrial production expanded by 14.3%.

The ambassador emphasised that such figures demonstrate the provincial government’s efforts and dynamism in attracting foreign investment.
