NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to attend AIPA-42

Chairman Hue will attend the event at the invitation of Pehin Dato Abdul Rahman Taib, AIPA President and Legislative Assembly Chairman of Brunei that currently chairs ASEAN Year 2021, said NA vice chairman Tran Thanh Man.

The conference will be held via videoconference on the theme of “Forging Parliamentary Cooperation in Digital Inclusion towards ASEAN Community 2025”.

According to Man, the theme of the AIPA-42 General Assembly demonstrates the determination and consensus of the legislative bodies of all ASEAN member states to accompany the grouping in its efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic, and overcome difficulties to recover the economy.

At the same time, he said the theme shows the AIPA’s resolve to strengthen solidarity in ASEAN, implement an independent, self-reliant and balanced foreign policy strategy, and maintain its central role in successfully building the ASEAN community.

Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is scheduled to deliver a speech at the plenary session of the meeting.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also send a message to the regional event.
