VTV.vn - HCMC is preparing to start school online due to Covid-19.

Secondary schools and high schools will start their new school year on September 6, while primary schools will begin on September 20.

The city's Department of Education and Training said that online teaching and learning will be applied consistently this school year instead of as a temporary solution as previously was the case. When the pandemic is under control, the education sector will deploy plans for students to return to school.

Under the guidance of the city’s Department of Education and Training, the education sector in 21 districts and Thu Duc City have started recording lessons for online classes when the new school year starts.

Each topic and group of lessons will be designed in the form of a video that includes tables, power points, interactive boards, pictures and diagrams.

Each video will not be more than 15 minutes long for the first and second grades, and no more than 20 minutes for the third, fourth and fifth grades.

The education department of each district and Thu Duc will choose teachers and professional team leaders on their own to develop lesson plans and record the videos.

The videos, made for all subjects, will be sent to schools and parents.

First-grade teachers are being encouraged to make their own videos guiding parents on how they should prepare their children to take online classes.

For the 2021-2022 academic year, HCMC is expected to have 1.71 million primary to high school students.
