VTV.vn - "Two Loving Stars", a musical that combines K-Pop and Opera, was staged for the first time in the central city of Da nang, making a good impression on local audiences.

With the participation of artists from the Uijeongbu Arts Centre, the event was part of activities that marked the 25th anniversary of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea's diplomatic ties.

Based on the romantic love story of Ngưu Lang - Chức Nữ (The Weaver Girl and the Cowherd), "Two loving stars" combined K-Pop and Opera, introducing different aspects of Korean culture to local audiences. The musical brought well-known Korean artists to the country, such as martial arts master Lee Ji Suk, famous Tenor vocal Louis Choi and the choreographer of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, Kang Ok Soon.

Park Hyung Sik, Director of Uijeongbu Arts Centre said: This is the first time we brought this show outside of Korea. We chose Da Nang because we want to show Vietnamese audience the beauty of Korean culture. And through that we hope to tighten the friendship between the two countries.

The Korean artists presented both contemporary and traditional dancing skills, martial arts and magic on a 3-D stage. The musical also presented the quintessence of Korean culture as well as the skill of the artists.

Kang Ok Soon, Choreographer added: We combine different kinds of art in our show. We hope to show you the essence of Korean culture. This show also gathered the best artists in their field.

The famous opera singer Louis Choi played the role of a story teller for the musical. The idea of introducing this mixture of two genres (K-pop and opera) was to give the public a taste of opera and to test the influence of K-pop on the local audience
