VTV.vn - The Muong Lo Culture-Tourism Week and a festival to explore the terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai district kicked off in Nghĩa Lộ commune in Yen Bai province on Saturday night.

The event draws crowds to the northern mountainous province, with art performances on the traditional cultural values of Muong Lo-Nghia Lo and Mu Cang Chai lands and a performance of "khen be", a unique bamboo musical instrument of the Thai ethnic people.

Other highlights include a food street and an introduction of community-based tourism products. In recent years, Nghia Lo, Mu Cang Chai and other western districts of Yen Bai have been working together for tourism development, becoming one of the four key tourism areas in the province.

Mu Cang Chai served an average of 30,000 visitors each year, and in 2016 the figure rose to 45,000.
