More fund-raising activities held in support of flood victims

VTV.vn - The Da Nang Printmaking Exhibition 2020 opened at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum on November 3 with the aim of raising funds to support people affected by the recent floods and storms in central Vietnam.

The exhibition is showcasing nearly 60 graphic works of diverse techniques and materials including zinc printing, mica printing, wood carving, lithography, monoprint, mix printing, and others.

The art works are composed by 18 artists from Da Nang and several artists from Hanoi, Hue and Quang Nam.

All the works will be auctioned via Facebook pages of artists and the website of the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum,with the funds to be transferred to flood-hit victims in central region.

*Truong Hai Auto Corporation donated VND5 billion to the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Quang Nam Province on November 3 to build 30 houses for people who lost their homes due to landslides in Tra Leng Commune, Nam Tra My District.

On the occasion, the group presented VND1 billion to Nui Thanh District in Quang Nam Province and VND2 billion to Quang Ngai Province to overcome consequences of the recent floods and storms.

On the same day, Hung Thinh Corporation granted VND1.5 billion to Quang Nam Province to help them ease losses caused by floods.

* On November 3, a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training visited and presented teaching equipment and books worth nearly VND10 billion to the education sectors in the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue.

*The Buddhist Culture Division under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Ho Chi Minh City held a candle-lit ceremony on November 3 to pray for flood victims in central region and express sympathy over losses due to natural disasters.

At the ceremony, VND5 billion was raised to support flood affected people in central Vietnam.

*The Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter continues to receive donations for flood victims, and has receivedover VND59 billion in the third phase of donations from October 13 until now.

* Vietnamese in the Czech Republic, Poland and Ukraine have offered support for flood victims in the central region. The Vietnamese association in the Czech Republic handed over more than VND1.6 billion to seven central localities.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese community in Poland raised over VND1.3 billion during a campaign to help affected people in overcoming flood consequences.

The Embassy of Vietnam in Ukraine joined hands with Vietnamese associations in the country to launch a fundraising campaign to support flood-hit residents. Nearly US$17,430 was raised after 11 days of the campaign.
