Monuments from Tay Son – Nguyen Hue dynasty found

VTV.vn - The exploration carried out in two areas of Duong Xuan mound which are Van Phuoc and Thuyen Lam temple of Truong An Ward, Hue City

In the past few days, The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, in collaboration with Thua Thien - Hue History Museum has conducted open pits, explore archaeological of Duong Xuan mound where the researchers identified as containing relics of historical of Tay Son - Nguyen Hue period, including the system of architecture palaces and tombs.

This is also where researcher Nguyen Dac Xuan, based on the historical documents and literature from the Tay Son Dynasty, identified as the location of  Dan Duong palace of King Quang Trung and is also the place where the King was buried.

Until now, researchers and archaeologists have opened 5 pit relic of Tay Son - Nguyen Hue in Duong Xuan mound area in Hue. Initially, archaeologists had obtained the results, traces of the relics which include materials such as copper, iron, ceramics, bricks, tiles.... Especially experts have discovered a different layer of soil, stones that looks like the foundation of a residential building and a tomb.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Culture sports and tourism, all artifacts after collection will be gathered at the museums then will be use as the basis for researchers, and council to learn.

Though only some artifacts and traces have been found and the conclusion needs thorough evaluations of scientists but it has opened up good prospects for the exploration of archaeological area of Duong Xuan mound. The archaeological work is expected to last until 15th of October. After that, the artifact will be decoded and research for final conclusions
