Mong Cai Border Gate Economic Zone master plan released

With an area of over 121,000 hectares, the zone covers the whole city of Mong Cai as well as 9 communes of Hải Hà District.

The project will develop three main sectors: trade, tourism, and industry, with a particular focus on e-commerce and ecotourism combined with shopping, tourism, food and beverage manufacturing, and accessories production.

The project will use the “1 axis – 2 regions – 3 centres” model. Specifically, development will centre around the socio-economic axis of the Mong Cai Economic Zone, particularly the Northern and Southern regions, and will affect three areas: Mong Cai City, Hai Ha Seaport Industrial Park, and the new synthesis center. After the announcement, Quang Ninh authorities also signed a memorandum of understanding with strategic investors.
