Men’s Futures kicks off in Binh Duong
VTV.vn - The International Tennis Men’s Futures - Becamex Cup 2016 officially kicked off in Binh Duong province on July 25.

Men’s Futures is a series of professional tennis tournaments held around the world by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

The event drew the participation of 68 players from 41 countries, including Italy’s Alessandro Bega (270th in the world), France’s Antoine Escoffier (398th ), the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Chan Hong (427), France’s Nys Hugo (429) and Australia’s Bradley Mousley (443rd place).

Vietnam will send its four leading players, Ly Hoang Nam, Nguyen Hoang Thien, Trinh Linh Giang and Vu Artem.

After the opening ceremony, athletes were measured as part of the first phase of the tournament. Tennis player Hoang Nam beat fellow Trinh Linh Giang as Vietnamese Vu Arten lost to Thai Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul.

The tournament, which includes nine small events (from F1 to F9), has a total prize of US$90,000.

Vietnam’s top tennis player Ly Hoang Nam said in the press conference in Binh Duong on July 20, that he hoped to win one of the nine events.

The tournament will run until November 6.
