VTV.vn - February 17 marked the 43rd anniversary of the Vietnamese people's resistance war to protect the northern border region.

Forty-three years ago, hundreds of Vietnamese soldiers sacrificed their lives to defend the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Mount Pò Hèn (previously known as Station 209) in Hải Sơn district, Móng Cái city, has long been considered the honourable resting place of 86 young soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the fatherland. Our report from Quảng Ninh province.

On the wall of the living room of the Pò Hèn border station is where the last picture of military officers and soldiers hangs. The photo was taken before the day they died. Their stories and sacrifices will forever be embedded in Vietnamese people's hearts and live on as a reminder for future generations.
