In his address, Chairman of the Vietnamese Consumer Rights Protection Association Nguyen Manh Hung said various legal documents have been introduced to protect the legitimate rights of consumers.
He added that consumers are regarded as the weak side so protecting their rights is inevitable, which also protects genuine enterprises.
With the theme “Transparent information - Safe consumption”, this year’s Vietnamese Consumer Rights Day aims to affirm the importance of information to consumers’ selection and use of goods and services, especially as activities that infringe consumer rights are rising in the online space.
It is also the call to the business community to provide accurate, complete, and prompt information so that consumers can make informed choices.
As part of the programme, certificates were granted to 16 enterprises in honour of their efforts to protect the rights of consumers.
