Meat imports to undergo tighter controls

The Ministry of Finance has requested that all local departments of customs require a certificate of origin from exporting nations. All poultry shipments from Brazil arriving before March 23rd must undergo thorough assessments by customs officers. The criteria for this assessment includes expiry dates, contents, preservation conditions and food safety. These shipments are to be sufficiently stored at the border gate while waiting for the examination results.
