To cope with the deforestation, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural development issued an emergency request on Thursday to leaders of various provinces and cities about strengthening measures to protect forests and prevent illegal forest exploitation.
Leaders of cities and provinces need to focus on inspecting and investigating forest sites that have been destroyed. Strict monitoring activities must be carried out regularly. Individuals who are responsible for deforestation must be punished according to the law. In addition, provinces and cities need to strictly manage wood processing enterprises. Timber needs to be checked for their traceability to prevent illegal trading of wood.
