The Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday in a statement that the nation is pleased to host the meeting between the two leaders. US officials had also considered holding the summit at the Korean demilitarized zone or in Mongolia, but ultimately settled on Singapore, due to its neutrality, security and track record of hosting international summits.
