In Bắc Giang province, Khoanh Song reservoir has a capacity of about one million m3. Due to storm Wipha, water levels had reached over 100% of design capacity. In order to proactively respond to the storms, the province has actively developed a disaster prevention plan to respond to emergencies.
In Lạng Sơn province, the delegation directly visited Nà Cáy reservoir.
The reservoir has a capacity of 5.5 million m3 and water levels at 7.8m, with over 0.2m of overflow. The reservoir is now at a safe level. According to the General Department of Irrigation, the Northern region has a total of more than 2,600 reservoirs.
Currently, the amount of water stored in the average irrigation reservoir has reached 60-75% of the design capacity. Of these, there are 81 damaged irrigation reservoirs that have not been repaired.
