Malaysia becomes 2nd biggest foreign investor in Vietnam

VTV.vn - Malaysia is now the second biggest foreign investor in Vietnam as of October.

The nation comes just behind South Korea, according to statistucs from the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Malaysia brings a total capital of 2.53 billion USD into the country. 2.4 billion of this comes from the Duyen Hai 2 Power Plant investment project in the Southern Province of Tra Vinh.

Japan now ranks 3rd, with 1.48 billion USD in investment, and the UK 4th, with 1.27 billion. Total FDI into Vietnam as of 2015 now stands at 19 billion USD- a 40.8% increase from the same period last year.
