He asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy to work with Malaysian authorities, in order to resolve issues with work, student, and marriage visas. Currently, about 60 thousand Vietnamese workers and hundreds of students are residing in Malaysia, and over 7 thousand Vietnamese women are married to Malaysians. The prime minister asked for their rights to be protected, citing it as a top priority for the embassy staff.
Later on the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung departed Malaysia for an official visit to Singapore, at the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
