Major irrigation project begins construction in Mekong Delta

VTV.vn - After more than 10 years of research, proposals, and feedback collection from various stakeholders, recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development officially approved the Cai Lon - Cai Be Irrigation System Project.

It is the second largest irrigation project in the Mekong Delta and will play a significant role in the provinces of Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau. The project can also be combined with the west sea dike to become a system of irrigation works to counter climate change and rising water levels in the Mekong Delta.
