The two outbreaks in Chi Linh, Hai Duong province, and Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh province have been brought under control, according to announcements made at a meeting of the National Steering Committee for pandemic control and prevention chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
However, the biggest concern now is Gia Lai which has no experience in COVID-19 prevention and has a weak medical capacity. The Steering Committee noted that localities should prepare facilities for treatment before an outbreak occurs.
Experts have also warned that localities need to closely monitor the cases because 80% of cases don't have symptoms and people don't report them when they travel from the epidemic area which causes difficulties in tracing.
