In Lao Bao Commune, Quang Tri Province, armed forces and local authorities are helping residents clear mud and clean up homes after severe flooding.
Flooded border guard posts along the Se Pon River are also being repaired. National Highway 15D to La Lay International Border Gate has reopened to traffic. The floods affected more than 700 households and 350 hectares of crops, while nearly 800 households were evacuated to safety.
Heavy rains over the past week have caused flooding, landslides and crop damage in Ha Tinh. A 100-metre landslide on a coastal road in Ky Xuan Commune has been temporarily stabilised with gabion baskets.
More than 10 homes in Ky Van Commune were flooded, while a section of National Highway 15 in Phuc Trach Commune was submerged under half a metre of water. Dozens of hectares of rice and crops in Ky Anh and Vu Quang were also affected.
