VTV.vn - To counter this problem, an aid program called “Life’s journey” was introduced to collect and distribute bicycles to support these children in remote and poor areas to go to school, giving them a chance to change their lives.

This house in Thach Ha commune of Ha Tinh Province is empty and quite. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai’s father has passed away and her mother has a serious illness. All of her 5 siblings are school age, but they hardly ever make it to school. If their family circumstances didn't make it hard enough for them to attend, their school is also several kilometers away. Sometimes Hoai used to seriously doubt that she could finish her education.

The "Life’s journey" social aid program aims to bring 1,000 bicycles to poor children in the country to support them to go to school. The program has called for donations six times already in 2015. This time, 50 students in Ha Tinh province have been given bicycles, together worth 100 million VND (about $5,000).

With the bicycles, the distance between schools and homes seems hugely less problematic. Hoai and other students like her can now attend regularly. Hopefully, education will open more doors for a better future for these poor children.
