Themed “We are Queer, We are Here “, this year's event aims to promote visibility and awareness of LGBT people in public spaces such as the workplace, cafes, parks and on the streets.
The four days of Viet Pride 2015 will be celebrated with numerous activities on different aspects of the LGBT community in cooperation with civil rights and LGBT organizations at the Goethe Institute Hanoi at 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street.
On the pre-opening day of July 30, Save the ChildrenFund will introduce and disseminate the result of their research on the lives of Vietnamese LGBT youths. The event is expected to be attended by non-government organizations (NGOs) and embassies.
The second day will feature an opening ceremony and a film screening with the topic of same-sex love, an award ceremony for Viet Pride Scholarship 2014 recipients, a presentation on Viet Pride’s new campaign Equal Office.
A talk by PFLAG (Parents and Friends of LGBT) about coming out experiences and advice for LGBT people and their parents along with another film screening will be held on the third day. It will be followed by a party called “Queer Disco Night” at CAMA ATK at 72 Mai Hac De Street.
On the final day, Viet Pride’s annual bike parade will be held on August 2 around GiangVo Lake in Ba Dinh District, followed by an after-rally party at the American Clubat, 21 Hai Ba Trung Street.
