The rains also caused substantial property damage, estimated at 200 billion VND (9.3 million USD). Eight houses collapsed, and over 2,800 other houses were flooded, with 143 hectares of crops inundated.
The local authorities have asked agencies and organisations to improve reservoir management while co-ordinating with localities to repair the damage and help residents cope with the aftermath of the flash-floods.
